Your Body Mechanic

There are two options: the 90min Ultimate and the 45min Tune-Up. Each has its own specific purpose and neither should be chosen based solely on cost or time. Wayne works a full 40+ hour week across six days to accommodate most client lifestyles, so availability is rarely the issue...

A smiling man wearing sunglasses and a black t-shirt with white text, carrying a bright yellow backpack, outdoors near a body of water with hills and a town in the background. The image has text that says, "Your body's mechanic," and mentions Wayne Armour as a functional movement expert specializing in evidence-based manual therapy and unlocking freedom in movement.

The Ultimate

The Ultimate is exactly what it sounds like. It is what all first-time clients need, as the 90 minutes are spent gathering background data on you, your body and your goals moving forward. This is followed by extensive hands-on work aimed at increasing your functional range of motion, while educating you on findings and hypotheses regarding what comes next.

For clients who simply need a more in-depth session, this is also the ideal choice, as more time means more hands-on treatment. Wayne has heavy hands and some clients prefer his more conventional massage style over his standard Tune-Up style. This option gives you the space to bounce ideas, techniques and approaches off Wayne to see what works best. With 20 years of experience across high-level sport, Wayne has a long history of making real progress with clients where conventional therapies have previously found limitations.

The Tune-Up

The Tune-Up is a 45-minute session designed to support your ongoing maintenance journey. It relies on you taking responsibility for your own functional mobility, with Wayne there to fine-tune anything that improves your movement going forward.

This approach only works if personal accountability is established. Wayne cannot take ownership of your body for you. Quick fixes are historically unobtainable and often increase your risk of injury. Expecting a single session to resolve years of movement patterns is like winning the lottery and expecting it to fix a lifetime of poor financial habits. Wayne is a guide, a resource and a tool in your self-care arsenal. While the 45-minute session is lower in cost and easier to fit around full-time work, it is called a Tune-Up for a reason, not a "low-cost treatment that will fix every symptom in a single visit." At the end of the day, your body mechanic is only as committed to your progress as you are.

How These Sessions Work

  • Observe & Assess: Analysing your movement patterns and how you carry weight load and looking at how your carrying posture to relieve pain, thus aiming to reduce your risk of ongoing discomfort.

  • Listen & Guide: Understanding your goals and helping you build better cognitive behavioural habits around how and why you move your body.

  • Treat & Support: Applying targeted soft tissue manual/massage therapy techniques within a supportive environment, giving you a reliable resource to stay active in sport, social life and daily events.

Why This Approach Works

  • The Concept: Directly combines injury prevention, cognitive behavioural movement habits and a supportive treatment environment into a practical tool for your lifestyle.

  • It’s Real: Keeps every point direct, clear and client-focused. It eliminates unnecessary complexity while sharing practical terminology, choosing transparency over gatekeeping knowledge.

  • Wayne’s World: Wayne is a massive nerd who loves all things human movement. His neurodivergent mindset and way of thinking are outside the box, resulting in an approach that is neither conventional nor cookie-cutter.
